Night Depository

Keep your deposits safe by using our night depository at any of our branches. Bags and keys are available for bulky deposits.

OVERDRAFT PRIVILEGE

Overdraft Privilege is a discretionary service designed to help prevent items with insufficient funds from being returned or declined.  With Overdraft Privilege, we have the option to cover your overdrafts up to your Overdraft Privilege limit (including fees) if you inadvertently overdraw your account.

Please be aware that the Overdraft Privilege amount is not shown in your current balance, it is not a line of credit, and it does not replace existing overdraft options, such as drawing funds from another account or line of credit, which may be less expensive alternatives.

What You Need To Know about Overdrafts and Overdraft Fees

An overdraft occurs when you do not have enough money in your account to cover a transaction, but we pay it anyway.  We can cover your overdrafts in two different ways:

  1. We have standard overdraft practices that come with your account.
  2. We also offer overdraft protection plans, such as a link to another account or a line of credit, which may be less expensive than our standard overdraft practices.  To learn more, ask us about these plans.

This notice explains our standard overdraft practices.

What are the standard overdraft practices that come with my account?

We do authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions:

  • Checks and other transactions made using your checking account number
  • Automatic bill payments

We will not authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions without your consent.

  • ATM transactions
  • Everyday debit card transactions

We pay overdrafts at our discretion, which means we do not guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction.

If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction will be declined.

What fees will I be charged if Heritage Bank pays my overdraft?

Under our standard overdraft practices:

  • We will charge you a fee of $33.00 each time we pay an overdraft, up to a limit of five fees per day ($165.00), and we will not charge you a fee if your account is overdrawn by $5.00 or less on any given day.
  • Also, if your account is overdrawn for 7 or more consecutive business days, beginning on the 8th business day, we will charge you a daily continuous negative balance fee of $5.00 for each business day that your account remains overdrawn, up to a maximum of five fees ($25.00) per instance.  However, this continuous negative balance fee will not be charged if your account is overdrawn by $5.00 or less on any given day.

What if I want Heritage Bank to authorize and pay overdrafts on my ATM and everyday debit card transactions?

If you want us to authorize and pay overdrafts on ATM and everyday debit card transactions, call (859) 363-4823, or complete the form below and send it through our secure website, present it at a branch or mail it to: 13447 Dixie Highway, Walton, KY, 41094. You can revoke your authorization for Heritage Bank to pay these overdrafts at any time by any of the above methods (However, to revoke your authorization on our website you must use our “contact us” link which is not a secure site and is not recommended). Your revocation must include both your name and your account number(s) so that we can properly identify your account.

Automated Voice Response Support 24 hours 7 days a week: 859-334-4039

Heritage Bank's automated voice response system will give you access to your account information, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Services offered include account balances, transfers between accounts, check verification, deposit confirmation, and loan payments. On your initial call, your Personal Identification Number (PIN) will be the last four digits of the primary account holder's social security number. The system will guide you through set up. Please remember to keep your PIN confidential at all times.

 (1) Per item if we pay an overdraft created by a check, in-person withdrawal, ATM withdrawal or other electronic means even though you don't have enough money in your account.  Maximum of 5 fees ($165) per day.  Not charged when your account is overdrawn by $5 or less.

 

 (2) Per item when you don't have enough money in your account and we return a check, transfer, or withdrawal by electronic means.  Maximum of 5 fees ($165) per day.

 

 (3) Per day, beginning on the 8th business day your account has been continuously overdrawn.  Maximum of 5 fees ($25) per instance your account remains continuously overdrawn.  Not charged when your account is overdrawn by $5 or less.  Negative balance can be caused by any type of debit.
